Anyone working in Basra?

Getting a lot of job offers coming through for Basra, on the UK gov site it seems safer than Nigeria but wanted the gen from someone on the ground.

Not since 2008 when we were still in there. Back then it wasn't a nice place to be.

I did a few stints in Basra last year... Stayed in a compound just outside burjesia. PSD lads (Britams) were a right crack. Didnt have any issues travelling around everyday only the bas*ard check points every 200 mtrs!! Also local police could be a bit arsy if the mood took em. Dicking you around saying your paperwork wasn't inorder. I'd go back no worries.

Few iraq pics..... Got a video somewhere of one of the Russian PSD boys clearing his Ak in the safe tube and acidently letting one off as well. Funny as **** team leader nearly batters him! haha
