What do the forecasters know anyway! They get paid to speculate and get things wrong. Think I would be in jail if I got it wrong like they did.

Going to stick up for weather forecasters! They don't get paid to get things wrong! They get paid to forecast! Forecasting has come on so much compared to where it was twenty years ago! Long range forecasting is an extremely difficult thing to do. We expect them to be correct all of the time which is completely unrealistic given the shear number of variables involved in getting it spot on. Day today the forecasting here in the uk is pretty damn good. Plus the British isles is one of the hardest places in the world to forecast weather!

And relax

Interesting statistic I read a few months back.
If you predicted teh weather as "same as yesterday" then you would have been more accurate (ever so slightly) than the Met office for 2009.

Yeah but imagine that statistic twenty years ago? Because, forecasting has come on so much compared to where it was twenty years ago...

Had an e-mail from my BMW dealer this morning telling me I need winter tyres and warning of the drop in temps.
