Tried to go to 3 different Shell stations yesterday and all had the cones out waiting for fuel. Emergency dive into BP for Ultimate, 150.9!!

And there's another 6p litre fuel duty increase in August? They are having a laugh. What happened to the Tory Manifesto policy where there would be a price cap where when fuel costs were low they got more tax and vice versa.

I'm pretty sure V-Power will be North of 170p / litre by the end of the year which will be £110 per tank fill on the RS.

Yup don't be suprised lads, it will easily be £2 a litre soon enough!

My R8 already max's out the Tesco £99 limit on pay&go due to the large tank

The future is small capacity forced induction engines like the 2.5TFSI ... Map to 400PS but fuel economy when you really try of 35mpg

Yep. It's an 86Lt tank IIRC. It makes you weak at the knees when you're filling into the high 70Lt mark. Your bowels release after passing the 80Lt mark. The walk to the tills is always very squirmy but the walk back it's all forgotten, just look at that fecking thing, time for some hard drivin'.

I gather you have to pay at kiosk every time then since most pay at pumps are £100 limited

I paid 1.50 for shell V Power today in Wokingham .. Of the two shell stations we have one was dry other was out of diesel .. I was close to Empty so was not a "panic buy". Made a decision NOT to fill the Boxster up and leave it in the garage

I have to do two separate pay at pump transactions, last time it clicked at £99 at Tesco, then I went through the whole process again to squeese in another £3.50!

You have to laugh, the RS was on fumes so went out in the SEAT with petrol can to fill up with V-Power, only one in 20 miles with it at 151.9 so 8.50 for 5.6 litres, enough to get the RS to the same garage an hour later, V-Power up to 156.9! :bash:

£50 for just over 30 litres, rip off.

All this panic buying stuff is an absolute disgrace. From a nation who normally shows a sensible, practical and unflappable approach to many a crisis in the past, the reaction to some c*ck of a politicians remark is just staggering. :knob: Ive just stuck 5 lites of unleaded on ebay to test the water !! :) The issue with tpetrol prices going North is just that all motorists are easy targets and they know that our country's infrastrucre and public transport is so <beep> we cant live without our motors! So they tax and charge us what they want. At least Dick Turpin wore a ffffing mask!

Anyway Im off to panic buy beer at the pub tonight...... I hear there might be brewery strike soon!! :drink:

Ouch! MK yesterday (Thurs) night, first Shell I targetted had V Power, 151.9p. Problem was the fecking pump just kept clicking, tried two, both the same, asked at the counter and they had 10,000 litres of V Power left, managed about five litres of constant clicking before giving up and going onto the next......... However the queue was 15/20 cars long backing onto the dual carriageway, not safe, and the remaining three of the five Shell garages in MK (ignoring the two on the M1 north and southbound) were all empty of fuel and shut! Texaco it was for a reasonably priced 144.9, never filled there before, pumped clicked like a bitch but I had to persevere, stopped at [a further] 45 litres as I didn't fancy it over my shoes. Was an good hour from leaving the pub to finally leaving Texaco, 10:20pm on receipt. The guy behind the counter saw the funny side when I handed him my Shell card!
