Watches / Jewellery

Post by EAndy » Thu Oct 20, 2011 10:55 am

Tad random but thought I'd pose the question anyway.

Basically I have £9,700 to spend in either Ernest Jones, Leslie Davis or H.Samuel on a gift voucher / card that I've been given from insurance to replace items stolen from my property back in August.

Now to me I'd much rather just have the cash rather than a Signet card with that money on.

If anyone is planning on buying anything of high value from any of those shops over say £3k then let me know and I'll pop along and buy it for you then knock at least another 5-10% off whatever the jewellers discount anyway. So if your buying for example the new Rolex Submariner which is now £8,110 I know Leslie Davis will knock price to at least £7,600 I would then knock off another £760 making it £6,840. The cheapest new Rolex Submariner you could buy in the country direct from a Rolex AD

Anyway doesn't have to be that watch, doesn't even need to be a watch can be any item.

I know it's a random suggestion but you never know :beerchug:

Fella. That is a fabulous idea. Thanks for posting this up.
I'm up for a new watch..... but not until mid-november, unfortunately.
Shame your insurance payout limits you to those retailers..... why's that ??

The insurance company gets a kick back from the retailer, the same thing happened to my dad when he had to claim for a new watch.

Beats getting given a Argos voucher I guess.
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar

The insurance company gives you a voucher for say £7,500 for you to spend with their chosen retailers which in reality probably costs the insurance company about £5,000, don't forget jewellery has a huge mark up.

No, I realise all that Paul.
I guess in my naivety I'm suggesting that maybe you don't want to buy your replacement jewellery at Elizabeth Duke.
What if their chosen retailers don't sell what you want to replace ?
