Why do they do it!!!

Currently sitting on the Tarmac waiting to fly to Russia. Meant to have left about 20mins ago but they have announced they are struggling with a 'niggling' fault. Be nice if they sorted this before we got on the damn plane!
Ok rant over.
Oh it's BA not Aeroplungetoafierydeath too so I expect more.
Why do they do it!!!

Have they not said what the fault it? I'm sure a bit of duct tape would fix it within 5 mins!

Hydraulic problem, simple fix apparently but it's raining outside so I think the union won't let the technicians work.

We got kicked off the plane last week as they had to change a wheel and brakes!

IMO BA have a policy of only declaring 15 Minute problems
Its broke come back in 15 mins
Still broke come back in 15 mins
Its fixed get on board in 15mins
we are just checking .. we'll let you know in 15 mins
repeat with feeble excuses for hours ...
