I need some help on the wiring scheme of DataTool Evo alarm ....? Its fairly straight forward as it is already loomed for my bike -748S - I like to know ;
1)Where the fused 15A eye lug connector goes; it has different effect on + & - (positive illuminates the left hand ind. perm.)connections, but is not long enough to go to the  + side of battery(its already loomed for my bike)

2)Is the micro switch funtion the 2 white 2pin connector plugs on the loom

3)Again the extension of the loom to the headlight area .. only 2 mini banana plugs .. i guess the horn ..?Rest is wired in and working ... need to know what & which wire does the blinking Led function ... could the 15A fuse

15A fuse could be too high, the pos. feed only has a 10A (these are mini blade fuses i'm talking about - encpsulated in a waterproof boots)

you say its loomed for your bike ?
Exactly which model of alarm are you talking about, to avoid confusion.
Usually these alarms don't simply plug in, they are cut into the loom. Otherwise they would be too easy to defeat.
Is it a new alarm, or ones your refitting ?

The two wires going up to the headlight area are almost certainly for a flashing led. The alarm does not connect to the bikes horn.
On my 996 and 998 the led was fitted into the warning light block - there is a small place free for it to fit into (need to drill a hole).

Usually the micro switch is fitted sense either removal of the seat unit, or to the right hand side panel. From experience the seat position is a nightmare, as it is too easy to get false triggers (the seat unit moves about too easily).

The supplies do normally go striaght to the battery. There should be both a +ve and a -ve to do so, plus a couple of config wires that can be connected to 0v or 12v depending on what you want the alarm to do. Always connect the +ve first, and the -ve last. It sounds odd, but trust me this is the correct way.

Asside from this there should be connections for the indicators, and the two sets of circuit isolation wires, which are normally cut into the bike loom.

I'm not an alarm fitter, but have had these on all my bikes, and have had cause to play about with them (replaced circuit boards and reprogrammed faulty ones before now too)

Well I have retro-fitted this datatool evo I had, previously on a 996, its just odd that the (assumed)-ve has a 15A mini fuse in the black boot, going to neg. side of the battery, possibility that its incorrect, but its working fine, so the extended loom is for an led.... ok I'll slap my volt meter on it test it out ... sounds plausible though ..... i'll let you know

Off the top of my head I can't recall if the fuse on my one is in the +ve or ground lead, but if its working it must be the right way around.

If you want a real neat install put the flashing led in the same hole as the oil light. No holes to drill

Thats a good idea, just have to remember its the alarm and not the bottom end going .....
