used car value

my son has just had his 406 coupe (peugeot) written off..its not alot of damage but as there are no pattern parts for this model its been classed as uneconomical to repair..
does anybody have a glasses guide or simular to check for its value..
R reg excellent pre-accident condition
2.0 16v 5 speed..cloth interior..alloys
i will prob buy it back and repair it myself as its only a wing bonnet headlight and bumper change..but im curious as to its book value...

with average mileage its booked at about £1200 swoody. are all the front panels different to a 406 saloon?

lots of people breaking the 406 coupes on ebay mate...

its got 175,000 mls..but drives like a new car...the normal 406 panels wont fit..coupe only..i,ll check ebay once i know how much they plan to offer..and how much they'll hit me for the buy back..

I would also check as to what similar ones are selling for so then you will have proof that it would cost X amount to replace the car.

With 175k on on it would valve it at no more than £900. see if it a CAT C or D. wouldn't pay anymore than £250 salvage.. Remember if you want to buy it back then look for 406 coupes for sale around the £1000 mark to show valve to insurance company, because salvage will be say 10% to 20% of it. If you don't want the car back, then find the highest valved cars for sale. Say £2000.

Had to do this 3 time with friends cars now. Getting good at it... LOL

well we've been offered £2000 for the car as a pay off and if i want the salvage its gonna cost us £375..so we keep the car and get £1625 to sort it..result i'd say...
