AS you can see we have intoduced a profile bar to replace the very old fashioned starbar system.
This is really there to encourage users to fill in there profiles, the profiles will not be accessable to any other user who has less than 60% on there bar filled.
So please take a little time out to complete your profiles.
Cheers

I hacked the code a little to reflect how we do things on RS246, so the required fields are:
email
Name
Occupation
Hobbies
Location
Bio
Type of car
Picture
What fun !!

the profiles will not be accessable to any other user who has less than 60% on there bar filled.
I'm tempted to raise the stakes to 80% or 100%.
Lets have a vote:
<FORM METHOD=POST ACTION="
http://forums.rs246.com/forums/dopoll.php"><INPUT TYPE=HIDDEN NAME="pollname" VALUE="1048496485PhilT">
<p>
How much of the profile should be completed?
<input type="radio" name="option" value="1" />60%
<input type="radio" name="option" value="2" />80%
<input type="radio" name="option" value="3" />100%
<INPUT TYPE=Submit NAME=Submit VALUE="Submit vote" class="buttons"></form>

I'd vote for things staying as currently - having just managed to get my profile to the required 60%. Are we trying to develop a strong community with shared interests or an elitist clique that discourages new members? Surely we want to encourage people to participate - some people will wish to remain more or less anonymous at least initially without having a sinister motive.
I can't add a picture yet as the ones I have are too large - have to have a word with my friendly technical expert. But then my car's there for all to see in her glory on the gallery and on the RS2 Forum.

Fair point, but for security reasons we feel that it is necessary to try to minimise the number of 'anonymous' users.
There is nothing elitist in this system, basically if you don't fill in your profile then why should you be able to read others? (Unregistered users are also blocked from reading profiles.)
Would you like any assistance with the pic? You could just use this:

Hi PhilT
I'm not trying to be unduly secretive - honest. And I can assure you that I am who I say I am, and I've no sinister motives in keep harping on about not being required to release too much info. Just share other members passion for Audi S & RS cars. I wouldn't be the owner of an RS2 if the material on this site hadn't awakened an interest I didn't know I had. The Evo Buyers Guide and a test drive did the rest!
Totally with you re need for certain security measures - particularly as it becomes fairly easy to identify individuals and their motors from some of the info/posts. Plus I'm hopeless at this secret squirrel stuff!
Him indoors sorted out the pics so they met the requirements for posting on the forum and in the gallery but I think they're still larger than needed for the profile. And I'm sure he'd be happy to sort it out for me - plus some new piccies for the gallery. But if you have time that would be great if you could sort out the piccie for my profile. Prefer it not to be the one with my ugly mug on it though - I'm sure everyone would prefer to look at far prettier sights - like that stunning RS2! Can't believe how lucky I am to own such a beautiful car - and she's not just a pretty face
Oops - rambled on again. Better shut up for now and go and do some work!

Well I took the liberty of increasing you Status Bar to 100%, hope you don't mind . I put a pic of your Noggy babe (The only colour for an RS2) in your profile.
The security thing stems from various reports of crimes related to our cars; last year a good friend of ours was attacked by three guys with balaclavas and baseball bats at his home for his car . Just trying to keep a lookout for any anomalies .
Thanks for the feedback ,

Hi PhilT
Thank you for sorting the piccie etc out!
And yes - definitely the best colour for RS2s - with the leather and blue alcantara upholstery and the carbon fibre trim. How could I ever have thought I wanted a black one?
