Go straight on at the roundabout...

Post by rikrose » Sat Feb 16, 2008 2:45 am

Well, that's one less Nova on the road. Looks like the owner was racing with his friend coming down the A329(M), towards Bracknell. At the end, after it becomes an A road, there's a roundabout, with a roughly 6-foot high centre. He missed the centre, but apparently was braking and steering and understeered into the middle of the roundabout, up the kerb, took out the left edge of the chevrons, up over the dirt off centre, took out the right edge of the chevrons on the other side, spread some mud on the road, and came to a halt between the exit for the A329 and the entrance for it coming onto the roundabout. It was pissing still steaming fluids when I arrived, heading for the motorway.

Being the good Samaritan that I am, I pulled around the roundabout, and parked somewhere safe, and asked if everyone was okay. Everyone was out of the cars, and stood on the verge, looking stunned. We had this conversation.

 : "Has anyone called the police yet?"
 : "No, but..."
 : "Don't worry, I'll do it on my way home" *hop back in car and leave, while calling*

I'm so good to other people. I wonder if that "but" meant they were considering not calling the emergency services to report an accident and slippery fluids no the road... Oh well, we can but wonder. :D

Shame you didn't get a piccy of the hapless "no buts" and their wreck.
