We wouldn't have much of a magnetosphere (in fact none at all).... that's why not! You need one for things like not getting fried by solar/cosmic radiation and other stuff like having an atmosphere ... little things like that

Mars is a good example of what happens to a planet when it loses its magnetosphere ... its atmosphere gets 'cooked-off' by solar and cosmic radiation. (lost the magnetosphere because its molten iron core set solid and stopped spinning ....... bingo: super weak magnetic field = dessicated planet)
