Clarkson speaks his mind

Post by CliveH » Thu Dec 06, 2007 4:48 pm

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/skynews/200712 ... dbed5.html

He deals with a bunch of hoodies who were pestering him, and then gets hounded by the police for alleged 'assault'...why aren't they out there catching real criminals, like the ones who stole Jason's car last night...???!

makes my blood boil...!!!

Middle aged male with money = easy target for cops and law courts (no work to do, no risk, revenue)

Young yob <beep> with no money = hard target for cops and law courts (lots of work to do, risk, no revenue)

Cops/Law courts (as they are currently) = rubbish, waste of tax payers money.

From the article:
A spokesman said: "Mobile phone images were viewed, as well as CCTV footage, and it became apparent that, if any offence had occurred, it was the man who was the victim."

Clarkson was later interviewed at his home in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, but did not wish to make a complaint or provide a statement.

The police spokesman added: "There is no evidence that a crime took place and therefore there will be no further police action."
Basically, they took one look at the evidence and said "well, he didn't hurt the kid, and it was obvious that he was the one being picked on. No point in going any further".

Quite right too. There's not many circumstances left where you can hit the first one and tell the rest that that was their warning.

Also, it's just occurred to me that basicalyl what the article says is "toady, Jeremy Clarkson wasn't taken to court". Not the most interesting of articles...

That's exactly the point - if it hadn't been Jeremy Clarkson, the police might have taken a different view...as feared by Jezza himself :

""I was standing there holding this boy by the scruff of his neck, and instead of worrying about being stabbed I was actually thinking: 'Jesus, I'm going to get done for assault if I'm not careful.'"

I don't think it's strictly fair to call Clarkson a toady ...
