except for their caveat "Therefore our calculator can not yet reflect the proposed changes to the income tax regime. "
and don't forget the increases in indirect taxes come now and these "savings" follow next year.

My initial thought was how can they spend the same or more, but charge less tax. Therefore, we must be getting our pants pulled down elsewhere! Or, the extreme's, ie the poor or very rich, are losing out

£15 more for tax disc and £72 more for fuel tax, about £60 in Air Travel tax... Jeez, thats really going to motivate me to use alternative means of transport for my daily commute.
Overall I'm better off, so I can now afford to remap my car, gut my pre-cats and install 100 cel cats
