you really had to be there

Post by shineydave » Thu Mar 23, 2006 8:00 pm

Ok, I work for a multi-national manufacturer of personal care and household products. this afternoon i had to attend a product development meeting where the marketing guys tell us what new products we'll be manufacturing and we (the engineers, chemists and packaging development guys) gang up on them and tell them why it can't be done.

i've often thought the marketing team should get out into the real world more often and today they confirmed it in big style.

so the product brief was for a new shower gell. they launched into a magnificent presentation with powerpoint slides showing market shares, spreadsheets showing the projected growth of the market and some pretty nice PDF files of the bottle and label concepts. all well and good, for once we couldn't blast holes in any of the presentation and to be honest we we're feeling pretty gutted untill they anounced the name...............

Golden Shower

after 20 or so of the aformentioned engineers, pack-dev guys and chemists picked themselves off the floor we explained to them in graphic terms what a "golden Shower" actually was. from the red faces i'm guessing i won't be holding my breath to see it on the shelf in the local Asda.

as i said, they really do need to get out more (or rent better quality porn)

I was at the food and drink expo at the NEC yesterday, and passed a stand which caught my attention:

"Otis Spunkmeyer, home of gourmet
cookies and muffins."

Hmmm soggy biscuit anyone?

with a bit of luck they'll all get jobs at Ford where they can orchestrate the next repmobile launch, i envisige the Ford Pubic will be a huge hit primarily because it'll be a recycled car manufactured from old corsairs

OK then, Julie Walters as Cynthia Payne in the film Personal Services.

She's not long been in the business having got into in to pay the rent.

'This one wants golden rain mistress'

'what'

'golden rain'

'err'

'he wants you to piss on him'

<silence>

'dirty bugger'

All from memory but very funny (well I thought so anyways)
