Best of 2004......

Post by wazza » Wed Dec 29, 2004 12:25 pm

I think we've had a great year with RS246 going from strength to strength.
In early March, we upgraded to the new 'version 2' of RS246, not initially liked but now we have got used to the format it's like we knew nothing else existed. We hit 1000 members on Mar 24th, 2004 and as I type we are on 1986 members, so that's moving along nicely too.
The new RS car this year was the RS6+. Why on earth didn't they do that in the first place?

If I think of my most abiding memory of 2004 with RS246, it has to be the weekend at Le Mans. Thanks to Eric and the Audi Passion guys for inviting us, and also to Phil for us having an excuse to go!

I've set up this thread so you can post links to threads in here of your favourite memories of RS246 in 2004.

I hope that 2005 will be an even better year for RS246. With the launch of the new RS4, I'm sure this place will be as busy as ever.

Big thanks to all concerned with the site. Without the Crew we wouldn't have a site. Without the members there would be no content.
Best wishes for 2005.
Paul

Yep, a great year for me...stumbled across this site in late 2003, and have since gone from a standard S4 (which I didn't touch in the 3 years I owned it) to a mildly modded RS4 ! Enjoying learning more all the time, VAG-COM and driver improvement is the task for 2004 !

Been on two fantastic trips and driven some amazing places (LeMans, Spa, The Ring) - Met some super-cool people and generally had a blast !

Best thread of the year for me (albeit a recent one) has to be the windscreen wiper code one in the RS4 forum...LMAO

Always nice to see the RS'es go to good homes... Even if you did reverse into a post within about an hour of picking it up ;)

Funiest thread has to be the visit from the messiah - http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNp ... ic&t=47906

The Le Mans weekend was excellent too. The wacky woman, and tedious drive back keeping off boost.

As Paul says, we have come a long way this year, and even though we have nearly 3000 registered users the content of the site is of an incredibly high standard. Thanks to you all, and I hope that 2005 exceeds your expectations

Favorite event must be the Spa/Ring weekend

Tim needed little encouragement to drop his trousers!!

2004 certainly was a great year, I've got many great memories from the year, not only from a car/site perspective but also from meeting so many other like minding people and having a great time in the process.
Not having owned an S or RS and coming into the 246 fold with a DIESEL...... albeit an Audi & 'slightly' modded, I have found on the track a diesel is just as much fun.

LeMans was amazing, right the way from Dover, catching the sound of the CSL and the odd RS4 going past, the track event was spot on with the odd scooby keeping us entertained. The evening entertainment was just as lively...

Tracking at Spa and the ring was a long awaited pleasure and still not having the bottle to take eau rouge at full chat.........
Going off at Spa, was something I look back and think 'what if'.....

Completing 3 laps of the ring was fun, albeit somewhat restrained affair I cant wait to revist in 2005.

Without the crew of 246 none of this would of happened - so a big thanks to them.
