unlocking mobile phones

Post by DuncS3 » Thu Dec 16, 2004 1:10 pm

I have been given a Sharp GX10 which is locked to Vodafone. My wifes phone is Vodafone pay as you go but her sim card doesnt appear to work in this new phone.

Does anyone have experience of unlocking mobiles? I checked the web and one place www.mobtec.net will do it for £20 remotely.

Would a pay as you go sim not work in a locked vodafone phone?

Usually a phone is operator locked, so using the same operator's SIM shouldn't cause an issue.

Voda and Orange have a habit of locking phones to their own network, in the past it has been a 2 min operation and £10 to resolve the lock....
