OK Guys
It is that time of year again when a few will venture across the channel into Bandit Territory. Does anybody have a diffinative guide to what to have and not to have in the way of docs to produce. I know the law requires you to carry all docs, (licence, car docs, insurance, large wads of cash) but I have seen mention of photocopies being produced, and other interesting theories?

I was caught by the Rossers, they were not interested in originals and were happy with photocopies of my log book and insurance, also gave them my passport, but on Taipan's advise kept my driving licence hidden. They asked for it a couple of times and then gave up - preferring to organise the charity collection plate. Taipan was of the opinion that they could confiscate your licence effectively stopping you from moving the car unless your passenger has the correct documentation.

I assume you are to be attending the party at LM?

hmm,

special note at the bottom of the France page says :
holders of EU driving licencses who exceed the speed limit by more than 24mph (40km/h) will have their licences confiscated immediately by the police

Sounds like a good reason NOT to hand it over then :bigblink:
