Looking for a pair of speakers for £3-400. Thought about the usual suspects eg Mission, B&W etc.
Any advise much appreciated.

Cheers

Walrus have got some secondhand Linn Keilidhs (pronounced kay-lee) at £495. IIRC they were about £2k new.

Might need something beefy to drive them though.

www.walrus.co.uk

or www.exdem.co.uk and try speakers. I remember paying around £400 for some Ruark Sabres 15 years ago, but that probably doesn't help you !

if you just want reasonable for good money, go for something like Mission M74's (~£150 ish) or Kef Coda 3's (higher up your budget). It depends on what you are using to power them though.. may be best just listening to a few sets.

Have a look at Richer sounds though, some good deals.

Bought some B&W 602.5's today, running them in so will reserve judgement for a little while but initial impressions are good - and they look fantastic.

Cheers

B&W stand mounts for that kind of price are always a winner. They have good sound, imaging and projection and are not so fussy about the source components.

However, there is NOBODY here that can tell you the best speakers to buy - that is the job of your ears only... Try them all, preferably with your own components...
