New digital camera - advice wanted...

...but not about digital photography.
The camera (Kodak 6440) is for the wife. I bought it from Amazon and only just got it yesterday. So I quickly checked that it was working, and then I noticed that a couple of pixels on the LCD screen were not working.
Now I know that there is always a failure rate with LCD screens (I work for a mobile phone company and I know that we do), and have had laptops in the past where maybe 1 pixel is not working and sometimes it is noticeable.
However I do not know what the rule is for rejecting LCD screens for sale. So now my paranoia kicks in: Does Amazon take 'low quality' products in order to sell them a bit cheaper?
