Looking for a laptop for my son (age 10) for use at school, anyone in the trade who could help ?, cheap, able to take knocks, anti theft [img]images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img], etc

Go for Dell, can't go wrong, even with entry levels.
Get the optional 3-year, next day warranty on site (ie at home), especially if the kid is a bit active.

I use a Dell for work, and recommend them along with Toshiba and Sony. Actually any brand will do, just avoid cheap imitations. Don't bother with second old hand ones, nearly new is OK, but new end of line will probably be you're best bet.
