Talking about M5's (somewhere on this thread) it reminded me of a mate of
mine that had such a bad day as to be funny.
- He had a leak on his kitchen roof, so he went up to fix it, it started
raining = harrumph
- He needed some stuff from the DIY shop so came off the roof to find his
washing machine had bust open and his kitchen was awash with er.....a wash =
ggrrrrr
- He cleaned up and got in his (once) £60k M5 and drove like a bat out of
hell to the DIY shop. Half way there, he was a some lights when a
nieghbouring car driver indicated there was a problem with the bottom of the
car. He drives to a parking spot, gets out only to find the bottom of his
car on fire = Toss!
- He empties his and a nearby petrol stations fire extinguisher, but metal
was still melting off the car = <sagafragataga>!
- He calls the fire brigade, which turn up, immidiately cut the entire
wiring loom with bolt cutters and then empty a tenders worth of water over
and in the car = NOoooooo!
- Fire out, investigation found a pin prick hole in his exhaust under the
car. This had leaked 2000degree gases onto the sound proofing under the car
which had sparked up and burnt very effectively. Insurers gave him £7k
write off for it. = ........<gasp!>.....
