Re: 1Gb symmetrical internet
I have got the 900 FTTP with BT. If you haven't had FTTP before you will really appreciate it. Unless you are planning on running a server were large files need to be uploaded off site you really don't need symmetrical. I found the 900/110 for me is a real overkill for my needs but its really nice to download large updates on the pc and xbox which previously would have taken an age in a matter of mins
Looking at their website they look like reputable and established.
Enjoy

Re: 1Gb symmetrical internet
Hi
Thanks for reply.
The symmetrical is standard with the offer, apparently they do a dedicated fibre line to each single property.
Funnily enough, I've suddenly got a BT letter through the post miraculously offering FTTP now, funny that. Even though they won't be able to use the same ducting....
This service is cheaper than BT/Zen but obviously is a bit of unknown. They're a swedish company in cahoots with the local council.
They have done similar in Stoke on trent first I believe.
Only problem I've got is planning to put my home on sale again in the Spring, and they all are offering 24 month contracts only.
Thanks for reply.

Re: 1Gb symmetrical internet
Hi My understanding unless corrected is if you move house after signing a contract and they cant offer the same service you are eligible to leave said contract.
You will need to check the T&C's
However, if you are with BT and they offer FTTP in the same area where you are moving to, then its very simple transfer (or should be)

Re: 1Gb symmetrical internet
My only other observation is to ensure that everything your side of the network can manage full duplex GB. A lot of domestic kit can’t, not even close in many cases.
Re: 1Gb symmetrical internet
Yeah, I was told this but the OFCOM website says you are liable to T&C's, and liable to pay up to the full contract outstanding..lushman wrote: ↑Sat Aug 07, 2021 12:38 amHi My understanding unless corrected is if you move house after signing a contract and they cant offer the same service you are eligible to leave said contract.

My problem is if/when my home's sold I'll be moving to temporary accm (due to covid rules) before moving to another property of mine after tenant gone (extended times due to covid)
I might just take the hit ref. 1gb as it is very appealing.
Still chewing it over.
Thanks for replies.
