My thoughts exactly.

The chimney one I can understand as it was just under £1k to complete.

Something just like ' Thanks, but we only take these jobs on...etc..'. At least then the prospective client is aware they aren't interested.

The window and doors came to just under £7k , so not small numbers, yet just no explanation at all as towhy they didn't turn up and I wasn't going to waste my time finding out why either.
Jees, I hear this all the time off customers,, tradesmen not turning up to quote for work when they say they will etc , I personally don't care if its a £30 job or whatever. a jobs a job and all the little ones add up and I'll always turn up when I say I will... Or atleast within a day or three of the agreed time 😉

Take it you're not local to the Midlands?
I'm just outside West Mids,(Staffs), the door guy is from Walsall.
I'll pm you his number tomorrow if you like,
I'm also a roofer but I'm not taking anymore work on at the moment, I'm booked up till mid November or I'd offer to come and give you a quote.
Is the door guy MD garage doors? If not, if you could pass a number on the would be appreciated, thanks.

So, I used Daz's recommendation and have to say it's possibly the first time I've ever had some work done by someone and not had a single issue at all. Had the door fitted this morning and we'll chuffed.
It's GV garage doors and he's located in the Midlands.

Thanks for the heads up Daz :notworthy:
