Who said it won’t??
The SEC has just appointed a new director that is pro-crypto.
And the drop was based on fake news about JPM dropping btc.
Price manipulation and FUD are rife in btc.

You clowns do realise that on a lot of exchanges you can short crypto just like forex right?

If you bought in December and just stuck it in a wallet then yes, you are rekt right now, there's no escaping that.

Or spread betting allows you to short.

However - The only way I’d be allowed to short bitcoin would be via the ETF, due to the nature of my work.

To be fair this contest has been even. Plenty of gloating in the opposite direction.

As I recall, I started on this thread just saying that values were just as likely to go down as go up. That quickly escalated to vile things said to me.

Nothing wrong with me.

I do find it very funny that literally days after what I first said, came true. Shame the "gloaters" didn't listen to sense....

Of course, it's ironic you accuse me of personally insulting someone by posting a personal insult....

Plenty of people were "right" for a while as they made fun of the bagholders who bought at 30, 266 or 1250 USD. The argument can only be settled after years, not months.

FWIW I'm mostly in cash now waiting for it to drop further but have a small BTC and STR holding just to hedge my bets.
B7 RS4 saloon Misano red, comfy seats, JHM tune & JHM full exhaust with cats and resonators - gone.
C5 RS6 Avant Daytona/Cognac - gone.

Bitcoin is volatile. There’s plenty of people that will have made decent money trading around the moves, or just through being long if they played it right.

I’m never going to insult anyone for getting an investment decision wrong and losing money on it - as I’ve done the same.

However, crypto - bitcoin in particular - seems to have attracted a bit of a bandwagon following of people that didn’t see any downside risks and thought the price could only head in one direction. People that didn’t understand what they’re buying. There are even stories of people taking out massive debt to buy bitcoin (remortgaging, even).

Getting into debt to make an investment is the wrong thing to do.

There’s always risks associated with any investment.
