I'm on the 200 plan and normally get around the 160 mark.
I rang up twice about my contract cause it had run out, I left it 2 weeks before calling them again. The woman the first time round was obviously on the rag, she had a serious issue with being alive and wanted an argument. The guy the 2nd time was brilliant, he gave us more for less money

How long you got left on your contract Ian?

Er, I think its just a rolling contract now, been with them since about 2004 (when it was NTL)

Last time I rang was about 18-24 months ago, the price had crept up and up, and I managed to get it down quite a lot, the guy I spoke to was really good actually.

Just needs to be a bit quicker now! But part of the plan as mentioned is to get a better-than-advertised deal on the new instruction.

Call through to retentions and say you're not happy and thinking of leaving.

When you actually do leave they call you and offer the world for you to change your mind.

Yeah, I can only imagine! I don't want to go that far though, cannot afford to be disconnected at the family home! Not least because we've recently ditched the BT landline and swapped the phone to Virgin too.

What's a landline for?

You give that one to the in-laws, when you don't answer you just say you were out the house.
