Mine has a plastic roof can't use it in winter or summer! Waste of space. Have seen people either

double glazing the roof

tile the roof

or this new guardian system roof.

I am looking for the cheaper option to be honest

tiled roof replacement quotes I have had are around 6k

glass 3k but trying to avoid this

not yet had any quotes on guardian roof anyone had this done?

I've got a double-glazed glass roof on mine and it's surprisingly effective. Also, you still get all the light in, which is kinda the point.

Example: this weekend, I decided I wanted to use it to faff around in so I put a 2kW fan heater in it and within about 45 mins the temp had gone from 11 degrees to 20 degrees. After turning it off, the temp remained high for a surprisingly long time.

An advantage with a solid roof is less heat coming in in summer time.

cosy roof.

They did mine, it was 18m x 6m cost 6.5K. best thing we ever did. ive sold the house recently, but if you look up 73 meath green lane, horley, rh6 8hn on zoopla you will see the finished job, best thing we ever did as it was open plan and made the whole house too hot/cod.

think they quoted 8.5, then we negotiated and ended up 6.5, it was 2 lads, took 2 days and did a blinding job. 7am-6pm with only a 30 min break all day, they were grafters that for sure!

we didnt get them to board and skim though, my best buddy did it for 500 they wanted 1100 if i remember correctly. best thing we did and sold the house when we came to sell it.
