I got a ticket in the rs before it went in to have the engine ripped out, left it in the car and the two weeks past.

I called up and said "hi, I'm a dick and I've not paid on time for the discount. Could I have it anyway?" "Ok, but what's your justification?" "I'm a dick? I've just told you that!" "<beep> most people just lie and I never give them it! No worries you can pay £60 still, good style."

So they're not all bad.

If it's any private parking contractor (and not a council traffic warden) you can put it straight in the bin.

Most of those wardens are too chunky to stuff into a bin anyway.

I got one of these recently, overnight in the designated allocated parking space of a girls flat, but the car was ticketed at 7:30am for 'not displaying a permit'. Ignored it so far, expecting a load of shirty letters to start arriving soon at the registered home address, nothing yet. And yes, the overnight stay was worth it lol

Haha, well that's a worthwhile cause for getting a ticket!

I've had dozens over the years, all go straight in the bin. Best not to engage with them, otherwise the correspondence actually increases.

Most of the tickets were from the same over-zealous company that enforced parking at my old flat...there was no on site parking but a loading area outside the front door, and an understanding with the developer and managing agent that residents could use it to load/unload/drop off kids etc. I'd drop wife and son off, come back downstairs and there would be a ticket on the car. I didn't actually see the culprit for a couple of years (like a parking ticket ninja). It stopped after we had a chat.

One company actually got hold of my phone number somehow and I was getting calls for a couple of weeks, that was annoying. I think that was after a kitchen design appointment went over the 2hrs allowed in the car park.
