Been playing around with the £35 Amazon FireStick TV. Pretty cool and loads of stuff for free.

I download Kodie & Wookie (bit like jail-breaking your iphone) installed them and this opens up a huge world of media for free. loads of crap and links that don't work but conversely loads that do work. James Bond Spectre etc etc.

Awesome bit of kit for £35. If I did it all again I would buy the £78 Fire TV. Allows Ethernet cable to be attached (faster than wifi, normally) and has 2gig internal memory instead of 1gig on the stick.

Just got an android box myself with Kodie etc, know what type saying about the broken links but once you find the good groups it's well worth having.

I've been waiting for the stick to come down in one of the regular offers so I can have it on my other TV. But £35 is an OK price.

I have the FireTV v1 but it fcuks me off because it won't output in 24p. This means that everything I watch except British stuff filmed in 50Hz has a jerky motion that p!sses me off since the box is trying to fit 24/48 frames into 60Hz.

The irony is that if I watch stuff through the "smart" TV's dumbass interface, the motion is much smoother because that *can* do 24Hz. Drives me bonkers.

The only reason I use the Amazon box is because the interface is slick and the music is reasonable quality.

I've been looking for a decent media box that can do Prime and everything else but it looks like there is nothing. I might have to build a media server PC. Image
