What strategies you guys got for getting some sleep once you have 2 (or more) kids?
Dying.
Actually maybe that's the answer; play dead. I could get some kip in the ambulance.

For really young ones you can try this gina ford stuff, works for some of my mates but its not our thing. Routine too strict

Drink rum when they have evening milk and go to bed shortly after they do.
It gets better - my twins are now 8 and don't tend to wake up before 7.30am!

Stringent sleep training when they're 9 months. It's a pain for 2-3 weeks but then they'll sleep close to 12hrs straight. My 3yr old sleeps past 8am most mornings, sometimes I have to drag him out of bed. Don't let them get over tired either.

This. My five year old is the same, sleep monster.

This.
We did bath, feed and bed from only a few months old at 7pm. Tight bedtime/sleep parameters and hey presto, my eldest who's 9 now and my 6 year old both slept for 12-14 hours each night bar illness.
I know friends who have girls however and it's a different ball-game. I think boys are indeed better...

Haha, thanks guys, wasn't actually expecting helpful responses!!
Got a 2 year old son (3 in a couple of months) and a newborn girl.
I think I just forgot how knackering a newborn is!!
"Tight bedtime/sleep parameters" - I like that.

i have a 5 yr old girl and 10 month olf boy.
both go to bed at 7pm, girls sleeps till 6 (no problem as I get up at 5.30) and the boy now sleeps 12 hours. took a week and a bit of kicking off in his cot but now all is good.
My mate lets his 3 kids sleep where they lay and he ends up sleeping in different bed everynight, don't let it turn into that as his kids are 5 and 8 and he looks dead on his feet!

I used to wear earplug every night and have done for 13 years, we had our 1st 6 weeks ago and I stopped and somehow I manage to sleep through and let the Mrs deal with it. I do wake up on the odd occasion tho.

Great advice! When my son fails at becoming a world famous racing car driver/rugby player/actor/chef/business man/engineer/scientist... that will be my advice to him.
Get into porn, son... and blow all over her back. Although, given his current obsession with the colour pink, lipstick and girls dresses, the gender specifics of that previous sentence will change and my voice may carry a little too much shame.
