Top Gear trio to appear on Netflix
Top Gear trio to appear on Netflix
Apparently [unconfirmed].
Here's hoping they get back to actually reviewing cars. Nothing makes me happier than listening to Fartson verbally dismantle the industries lemons and market segment fillers. It makes the other <beep> bearable.

Re: Top Gear trio to appear on Netflix
I heard a rumour (friend of mine was ex TG sub-editor) that a 'digital channel' is interested... but then part of me wants CH4 to pick it up, flex their broadcasting parameters and give it the springboard it deserves.bam_bam wrote:Apparently [unconfirmed].

Re: Top Gear trio to appear on Netflix
I totally agree, the last few series became a bit of a farce, they should get back to reviewing cars as opposed to trying to make a floating Transit !!bam_bam wrote:Apparently [unconfirmed].

Re: Top Gear trio to appear on Netflix
I totally agree. All these Argentine trips etc were getting stupid and constant burn outs and drifting expensive cars too.
Why don't they do a refurb or proper group tests and long haul races etc ie concentrate on cars.

Re: Top Gear trio to appear on Netflix
if it is Netflix you gunna have to pay to watch the trio

Re: Top Gear trio to appear on Netflix
How's that any different to my 146quid a year TV licence? I'd rather not pay the licence and just have my Netflix sub.

Re: Top Gear trio to appear on Netflix
The difference is that I have no choice about paying the licence fee, whether I want to watch the bbc or not. If they move to Netflix I still have to pay for my TV license. Pretty sure eastenders is not worth £146 a year (is that really how much I pay nowadays?). Clearly I'm not moaning about Netflix as at least they give me a choice whether I want to subscribe or not, it's the bbc that annoys me.neilparf wrote:This^. This^. As I type this I'm watching eastenders... Oh the irony.
Re: Top Gear trio to appear on Netflix
Well Chris Evans is a good choice. All we need now is a top bird with the figure and massive tits and personality of Cupid Stunt.

Why would you want Katie Price on Top Gear?

I like Chris Evans, but it must be the sexist in me that just can't take women seriously on car programsCovkiller wrote:Well Chris Evans is a good choice. All we need now is a top bird with the figure and massive tits and personality of Cupid Stunt.
Every time I watch Vicky Butler henderson, I'm just hoping to see a nipple, and that Sabine Schmitz, or however you spell it, just reminds me of a bloke in drag.
I'm sure they're both very accomplished drivers, but car programs = mens programs for me and I can't take them seriously
For the TG program to work properly and have further longevity, it's going to need complete reinvention as the existing format has died with the Clarkson trio leaving. I, for one, hope they come up with something good as having TG on the BBC and the new JC program on another channel means twice the amount of potentially great car viewing on the TV
I always quite liked Tiff and Plato as a duo too, but found fifth gear spent too much time on mundane cars and not enough time on the exotic stuff that I really liked being reviewed
I'd suspect that what TG needs to go with Chris Evans is maybe an ex F1 driver or someone with real driving credential. It's not as if the BBC don't have the budget to pay someone like Coultard, Irvine or Johnny Herbert.. Or maybe even Martin Brundle
The third person (assuming they'll stick with the three presenter format) could be someone to add the comedy or entertainment to the show
