Bushy, there you go (for 1 day only ;-)

Type "wheelwax" or "meguiar" in Google (synchronisation may take a while though for all keywords).

I shared the info with John T. by mail.

OK here's one trick I used on a site I created.

Firstly look at this - http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=U ... =technicar

How's it done? Well here's how it happened....

Go to www.technicar.ltd.uk quickly right click on the entry page and 'View Source'.

You will see this in the html:

<p><font color="#0000CC">www.technicar.ltd.uk www.technicar.com www.technicar.co.uk
technicar sheffield uk england south yorkshire car audio security alarm alarms
head unit units speaker sub subs subwoofer multimedia multi media multi-media
in-car mobile office PC ICE in car entertainment clifford laserline piranha
alpine kenwood pioneer sony dragster focal jmlab jl audio mission phoenix gold
Rockford fosgate sound stream soundstream audio-visual headrest screens flip
down retractable navigation video playstation PS1 PS2 dreamcast DVD VCD MP3
CD radio cassette minidisk sat nav av</font></p>

These words are 'trawled' by the search engines and it has appeared to work.

That's it.

For French speakers, here's a site dedicated to explaining the basics (and more) of getting your site properly setup for maximum listings by the largest search engines.
www.abondance.com

There's an audit feature "audit de page web" where you enter your site's url and it gives you a quick evaluation (meta description, meta tags, title, etc.).
With the use of an online translation program, you may find one or two things interesting.

I'll see if I can find an english-speaking site.

Hello John,

Here's a link to an English-speaking site dedicated to Search Engines principles. It seems quite extensive and I was told it's apparently one of the leading references in the matter.
SearchEngineWatch.com

Go to Search Engine Submission Tips to see the whole FAQ.

And a direct link to How To Use HTML Meta Tags.

A good and to-the-point link for Paid Submissions where the author listed a serie of options with pro's and con's (updated Oct 14, 2002): Your Search Engine Submission Budget

I haven't found an audit feature there yet but if you'd like to test your site, you can still try this one (most of the French expression are in english so should be easy to get the main recommendations) :
Audit of your web page (from Abondance.com)

Hope this will be helpful.

Eric
