I found this a few minutes ago: http://www.airflow-uk.co.uk/Wheel-Nut-G ... -Jack.html
Is this a good tool or a bit of a toy?
It won't get that much use - just swapping winter wheels on/off each year and maybe take on road trips with the spare.
Worth a go? Any other ideas?
Thoughts on this wheel but gun and jack?

that will be $HIT

Hmm. Thought that might be the case. And the half dozen Amazon reviews are either BEST THING EVER or one star.

Buy a torque wrench, a socket, and a basic 2 tonne trolly jack. Will come to less than the price of that kit and you can do it properly.

Will do that instead. Found a 2t trolley jack and a decent 40cm torque wrench, both with cases.SuprSi wrote:Buy a torque wrench, a socket, and a basic 2 tonne trolly jack. Will come to less than the price of that kit and you can do it properly.
I'd prefer a long socket rather than an extender if I can get one - less bits to lose! This one's 15cm which I think will get into the B7's deep alloys. Sound about right? http://r.ebay.com/SgZcCn

Good idea but holy crap that's an expensive socket!
I just went for the cheapo Draper torque wrench (only gonna be used for wheel nuts) which came with a short extension, you've got a point about losing stuff but as long as it all goes back in the case it's all good.

Great. Will have a hunt. There's one on Amazon for £25 with with socket inc. 19mm and a 125mm extension. Is that long enough for the OEM wheels? I tried an 80mm one at Halfords and it wasn't enough. Should've brought a tape measureSuprSi wrote:Good idea but holy crap that's an expensive socket!
