My day job - RAF Fast jet flying instructor film

Guys,

Someone on Twitter (not sure how it works tbh) asked for an in cockpit film of what exactly I do everyday. I am an RAF flying instructor on the BAES Hawk T2 at RAF Valley. I teach students and instructors on the weapons and tactics phases of military fast-jet flying training. I knew some of the guys I've met on here before would be interested so I've posted the link. Please don't be jealous - it's not what you think, I have neck issues that will become debilitating when older along with some other medical problems caused by flying and you all earn far more money than me ;) That said it can be a good job when the sun shines and teaching young students to go onto the front-line is very rewarding.

Thanks, Tim.

I've got the debilitating neck pain but no Hawk to fly so I'm still going to be very jealous if that's OK with you   :assflash:

Very nice Tim.

I never was allowed in a fastjet (thanks to options for change) and it is one of my biggest regrets that I did'nt get a fly in one when I was in the UAS.

Still flying for a living ain't bad, better than working in an office :bigblink:

I'll put one up of the normal British weather when I can, it will make it look less appealing believe me :(

That was pretty epic, thank you.

Question though; how on earth do you manage to take notes whilst you're being flown around and surely they're illegible when you go to read them?? :biggrin3:

Hey Tim.

I'm a skydiving and wind tunnel instructor so spend a lot of time in the air myself - and whilst I'm not jealous I'm VERY envious. I want to fly myself very much indeed. Thanks so much for sharing this. I guess I should make a video of my office too at some point!

Kudos, Tim!
