Just come from gig in Birmingham NIA - got to say I forgot how fantastic a show this guy puts on! Marilyn Manson was good too - well worth seeing
Re: Rob Zombie
I did wonder how this show went, was thinking about watching them in London.

MM
Rancid
...all the things I love.
I've never seen Rob Zombie in concert but I've seen White Zombie, one of the coolest crowd's I've encountered yet.
I've lost count how many times I've seen MM, the Antichrist Superstar tour was probably the best, I saw them at the Enmore theatre, very elaborate stage and the theatre only holds 500-600ish... I was the only non-goth.
I've seen Rancid twice now, the first time was most memorable. There were about 20 punks that decided to form a 'whirlpool', it was piss funny, it basically meant they started bodyslamming around in an ever growing circle. Most of the crowd cleared but the ones that didn't were chewed up and spat out pretty quickly. Then I jumped in, it was of the most primal things I have ever done, 20 - 25 stinking, bleeding and angry punks and metal heads smashing into each other. It was an assault from all directions, proper hardcore (and I grew up playing rugby), then just when you'd regained balance, another mentalist would change direction and go against the circle. All this chaos with a Rancid soundtrack, perfect. I left that concert covered in blood, with a chipped tooth, two black eyes and concussion. Pure class.

No matter where you go, there you are.

Re: Rob Zombie
Over the last four years I've been lucky enough to see all my favourite bands, most of whom I never thought I'd get the chance:
Bad Religion four times (once in Madrid, twice in Amsterdam, once in Bristol)
Flogging Molly twice (once at Exeter Lemon Grove, once in Bristol)
Pennywise in Amsterdam (before Jim Lindberg left the band)
Rancid in Bristol
Rise Against in Bristol (with the added bonus of the brilliant Anti-Flag as the support)
Like Bams Rancid experience, all of these were primal, mainly because punk rock is and always has been the soundtrack to my life. But Flogging Molly at the Lemon Grove takes some beating. A tiny tiny venue with that fantastic FM Irish/punk wall of sound and sweat literally running down the walls.

Re: Rob Zombie
Good selection of bands .
Recent bands iv seen, The Beat they played the 2011 London Tattoo convention. Bad Manners in Brixton (Hootandanny) and Prince Buster in Croydon 3 years ago!
Oh and Alice in Chains last year as well as Cathedrals last ever UK show before they spit.
I used to be well into the 90s gigging scene...kind of drifted out of it due to work commitments.

Re: Rob Zombie
Christ, am I too old or too young cos I don't know any of these bands you're talking about other than a couple mentioned in Sonny's last post?
I clicked on this thread cos I thought Rob Zombie might have been a new video game!
