No remap for me after all
Apparently, I was going sideways on 2 wheels when I hit the low wall that flupped the car over. Both the police and the fire crew have told me that they were expecting to find a corpse inside...
I guess I must have something left to do before I am allowed to leave this planet. The trick now is to find out what it is and avoid doing it...

Practical points going forward....
Have you had any feedback on the accident - early on you mention a delivery truck being involved somehow. Did it cause you to lose control, was there diesel or oil on the surface? Have you been to that stretch of road since to see if any improvements have been made (e.g resurfacing) as this could indicate a poorly maintained road. There have been cases where people have been through the court system only to find out afterwards that the road surface was not laid correctly and had an inadequate coefficient of friction. The local council is obliged to inspect every road every 6 months - they should be able to provide you with the inspection records if necessary. With serious accidents the old bill/accident investigators should check all this, but they may not have done so in your case (since no one else was involved and it wasn't a fatility) These things could be useful if they decide to charge you.

If you dont "do it now" you never will.

I don't want to say too much until I hear from the CPS, but the witness statements are quite damning even though I don't remember anything myself.
Since I have been the main loser (both financially and health-wise) and all other parties have sustained minimal losses, it has been suggested that the outcome is likely to be more lenient than it would have been if there were injuries or greater losses by the other parties.

Christ on a bike Al - how the f*ck did you get out of that alive?! That is one seriously mangled motor ...
Take solace in the fact that within the infinite ensemble of parallel universes there are many versions of you that didn't get out alive... (and many that didn't crash at all!

Deus ex machina
Absolutely unbelievable that you survived that Al

I agree. That's why getting screwed by the insurance company and facing a possible ban hardly bothers me. Prior to the accident I'd be chasing around calling solicitors and getting all wound up. Given that I came out alive, I'm not going to push my luck with anything else to do with the accident. After all, I still have a blood clot in my leg that could break loose at any time........
