I had to go on a forum rehabilitation course, I had to sit in a circle with other offenders and repent my sins.

Jeff, it seems that many things are being taken in such a way which is why so many posts are getting deleted or censored.

Maybe if there was some consistant moderating taking place then the members would not be 'against' any of the moderators....

The attidude that the site does not care about who it alienates with its dicatorial stance is surely just pouring petrol on the situation...?

Regardless of how Julian has gone about voicing his concerns they seem to be very genuine concerns that affect all of the members. Many of us take time to post here, most of which is useful and informative, if certain moderators are allowed to blatanly flaunt the same rules they proffess to want to uphold it undermines the very fabric of the forum... its moved me to make comments.

As a user of many forums for a good many years I have never seen an attitude like this form a moderator or site owner....Like some of the comments made by quite a few now, its affecting our desire to want to continue to support this forum... Yes, as you so bluntly put it, the moderators dont give a crap who leaves and who stays as a result of both the moderator concerned and other stances, I will be removing my 246.com stickers from my car advertising the site, I do not wish to support these types of attitudes... I will attend the rolling road day, but suspect that will be my last 246.com meet....

Jeff

Your contribution to this thread is much appreciated - it's always good to have a range of views.
jeffw wrote: The petition comes across as being against the organisers and moderators of this forum.
Not at all, and I don't see why it should, but if the 'organisers and moderators' should feel that way, then I apologise. I don't know how simply I can put this, but this is a plea for S4TAN to return to the forum. Just that
jeffw wrote: If he never posts on here again will make little difference to him or rs246.com.
I disagree - he makes a valuable contribution and a touch of 'colour'.
jeffw wrote: As for spelling it out.....twice....it kinda makes my point.
errr...which point?? and how does it make it...???
(it was of course a 'double post', as explained above)

Absolutely Phil, and that's the whole point of this thread - to encourage him to return... Did someone say he was banned??

H8cak - you've 'double-posted' - delete it quick before someone thinks you're trying to 'make a point'... :?

Quite funny how people can be so anal about a simple petition. If you don't like the guy or want him to come back, tick no! (which i'm sure you have).

I think a bit of light hearted banter makes a good forum

Well I voted to let the c*nt rot in hell - as rolskii so eruditely pointed out: he is a f*cking major slag.... I should know.

I truly appreciate all the sentiments chaps [CliveH,ChrisS2,mikeyquattro,Peakz,shineydave,Neily,s4woody and little charlie,..S4INT,AdamS4,H8cak]
- I really do. You're all thoroughly decent guys, all of whom I look forward to meeting either for the first time or anew at the RR day and beyond.

But .... this is only a web-forum. Ironically [and very surprisingly for a mere IT wally] jeffw got it right [well sort of]: I didn't actually fall out with the moderators ... but I did with just one of them: any prick who thinks he can threaten people on a web forum AND be a Moderator is seriously f*cked up...... And, I can say with total impunity that the apparent lack of internal moderation from the other moderators in the crew kinda came across as tacit approval of the moderator in question's behaviour - and was thus somewhat disappointing - which is why I choose to no longer frequent here, but really, in the final analysis, it's no big deal. And this web-forum will doubtless go on with, or without, the majority of members here truth be told.

All you can really do is vote with your feet - that's what I've done [apart from this post obviously] - In a democracy you can [theoretically at least] elect your government and then dethrone them when they abuse their power to the detriment of the electorate, in an autocracy you can't. Jason's eloquent and succinct points describe the situation here perfectly.

@Jeffw - were I to be a more cynical man I might be inclined to suspect that you were vying for crew membership!! [were I to conflate your response to JR in the infamous B7 RS4 detailing thread with the ones here]... and I can tell you this unequivocally: Clive is no sycophant - he's simply one of the 'good-guys', you know, the sort that are prepared to stand up and be counted, has the bollocks to speak out, and has the courage of his convictions. It's entirely your mistake to confuse sycophancy with decency.

CliveH - you're a gent, proper 'old-school'.

Finally after some deeply tragic news [for me] this weekend I'd like to make a personal statement: Paul Vincent Raven, 1961 - 2007. Way too soon. R.I.P.

Take it easy dudes - Julian (AKA 'that <beep> S4TAN')

Totally respect your stance Jules
At least we tried.

Such a shame so many top blokes have chosen to move on from what was an excellent and "happy place to be". :boohoo:

As you say, it's only a forum.

As S4TAN said.......this is only a web-forum. It was a bloody good one at that untill things like this happen. I used to enjoy the banter that went on between S4TAN and the other guys. Its a shame that one person can p*ss someone off so much that threads like this have to be brought up.
Why cant the mod (and we all know who it is!!!) just admit that he was wrong????? Surley that would put an end to all this nonsense and we can all play nicely again?
