They said in Ep1 that Ep2 in SA would be very different from all of the other episodes.

Except with a Pioneer plasma. I spent a fortune on the last of the pioneer plasmas before they stopped making them. I've been waiting for years for the LED tvs to catch up to the quality and black levels and performance when watching SD. I think the 4k tellies look stunning when watching 4k but not so great with HD and terrible with SD. I've been waiting until there is more 4k content to watch or at least until there is no SD left that I watch.

The rumours were that when Pioneer bisdanded it's plasma department they all went to work for Panasonic and I think this shows by them being the King's of plasmas now (or they certainly were a few years ago I'm, not really up to date with current sets though).

There are some good LCD sets - I have seen one (1)! But Sony don't make it any more. You need the local dimming array for the picture to be palatable. Even then, it has to be well implemented.

I always swore by plasma, but those days are gone. If you like plasma then maybe OLED is for you. The blacks are, well, completely black. Watching Gravity on my TV in 3D is just an awesome experience. Every star stands out against an absolute black background. No LCD TV can compete with that.

Total <beep>. Why can't they go back to cars and stop acting like old rock stars? It was funny when they did the challenges and always crashed into the back of May.

The KS8000 has local dim which is a lot better compared to the smaller versions. There was no way I was going to blow twice what I did for 'somewhat' blacker blacks, you pack of racists, so I made it a point of avoiding the OLEDs. That said, we don't watch SD TV, we only download HD stuff or stream Netflix and Amazon. The download stuff is hit n miss but I don't think an OLED would fix that. The streaming stuff looks fantastic, sounds like an OLED might ruin that. But the main reason for me getting the Sammy KS8000 was for PS4Pro. This panel is 10bit and has a game mode in HDR with 17ms latency, it was hard to beat.

I might continue avoiding seeing a UHD Blueray on an OLED too, that might kill me.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Ep 1 - Good
Ep 2 - A bit pants
Ep 3 - Good

Not a bad start. I've had a good chuckle somewhere in all three episodes, my only gripe is that the celebrity brain crash slot, is rather pointless and becoming very tedius.

Totally agree. Was funny in the first one. Less so in the second. And at the third one it was like WTF!

Was a better episode this week, they need to talk less in the studio and do more challenges though, that's what most people like. It seems forced at times, rather than natural humour that comes from just talking about cars/challenges.

Loved the Rolls! Wasn't overly impressed by the DB11 though, for some reason it didn't seem very Aston Martin-ey if that makes sense. Just looked like any other sports car. Take away the front grill and would you know it was an Aston? Maybe it was the colour, i don't know.

And Hammond in a muscle car is still just as annoying as it was before. I hate muscle cars. :bash:
Real name: Simon, or Si, don't mind either
