Hi ya,

yep, I know Basel. Last time we stopped in Bad Sackingen just east of there (not an overly nice place but the other lads enjoyed having the penthouse suite in the hotel ;) )

If you've not ventured out too far, get up past Mulhouse, and find the D431 toward Gerardmer. Its the road up over the Grand Balon. It might have a lot of overbanding on it but it is a cracking road. Pretty much all of the D roads around that area are good.
The other road I mentioned is north west of Todtnau. It is apparently closed to motorbikes at the weekend as it is so good/popular :D

I guess it really depends on what types of roads you like. We look for the twisties (more technical) with the occasional high speed stuff. The 500 is defo high speed stuff, 120+mph sweeping bends in places :sekret:
Last time a guy on a Yam XJ was lifting his inside foot so his footpeg could fold up to give a bit more clearance
I'm getting excited just thinking about it. Only 4 weeks to go :boots:
I'll look out where we are staying and let you know via a pm with my mobile number.
There is a group of about 10 of us, and the hotels are already booked apparently (i'm not organising this trip).

Cheers,
John.

I know the road you mean I think. Runs from near Schonau down to Todmoos. We did that one last time over, and will be doing it again this trip :D

That road sounds interesting. You'll have to let me know which one it is ;)
We've stayed in Colmar and done a lot of the roads around that area too.
Actually done far more over that side of the river than in the forest.

The B500. Runs from Waldshut up to Baden Baden. In a couple of places its number changes, but if you have a look at the map it is easy to figure out.

Appologies to the rest of you lot for highjacking this thread

Just a humble plumber? You picked the right job! If Pimlico Plumbers are anything to go by, I've never seen such a collection of private plates that are on their vans. "Loo 1" "Bog 1" "A 8OILER" have all been round to my place.

I'm an Adman - no money in it.

Do I win £5?
RS4 B5. Where it all started.
RS6+ Never to be replaced.
Replaced by: 997 Turbo. Didn't like.
Replaced by RS6. I like(d).
Land Rover Defender. Not as nippy.
Back with C6 RS6
And again C7 RS6
