What can I say...scumbags...I can see this country going the same way as the US and South Africa eventually, with 'gated' communities and private security companies...

If there's anything I can do matey, just ask.

Sorry to hear about this John and it is the psychological damage it does rather than the actual financial that is problem. The last thing you want to do is to live in a fortress. We lived in the Middle East and were broken into twice and that was in a country were if you were caught you got your hand removed so not sure what deterrant will actually work!!!!

Really sorry to hear this again JER.

I DO live inside a fortress. The insurers have forced me to. Its inconvenient, but at least I am still (just) covered.

We are all to blame. We elect the governments we deserve. Lets choose one that really will get "tough on crime, tough on the causes of crime".

What goes around comes around!

Post by tombs » Mon Apr 26, 2004 10:20 am

Hi John,

I like the rest here am really sorry to hear about the B%$&!£%s who ransacked your place, I'm a great a believer in "what goes around comes around", and this is the reason why. One of our neighbours is a policeman who told me this story, around 3 years ago our neighbour finally caught up a with a team of scumbags who were on a burglary spree in our local area, he actually caught the ringleader stuck in a flat's window, the idiot was trying to break into top window but got stuck half way in around the waist, the flat was on one of Suttons busy streets with quiet a few people walking by. Unknown to the Scumbag the owner of the flat was actually in, but in her garden hanging out washing, she came in to find this Pra^^'s top body and head sticking in her front room, and so she called the police, but not before she had her fun with the scumbag, she went round to the front of the flat and pulled of the gits jeans and pants for the whole world to see, and also decide to try and give the lad a helping hand by pulling him back holding on to the only thing she thought she could!! As you can imagine not only was he totally humiliated in front of all and sundry but was now beginning to feel the pain of having his testicles yanked. My Neighbour (Policeman) said he turned up to see the woman really giving this Ar*& hole a tug and he was screaming like a little girl. The woman could have been done for assault, but the guy was so embarrassed he decided to give up and plead guilty to around 30 other burglaries as well.
Although in your case John they seem to have got away, I bet you at some point they will come unstuck, also think about the shitty life they live, no respect for themselves or anyone else, no life to speak of, you on the other hand have a successful business, married to I would have thought a gorgeous lady, have a great family and many friends who respect and like you…and more importantly you have a life! Don’t get angry mate, they don’t deserve your energy, they are a waste of space!

Nice post tombs.

JR, sorry to hear this mate. I have no idea how big a house or what sort of area you live in,
but like most areas thefts go in spates, and around our way they tend to target houses with
visible signs of security (alarms, electric gates, etc), as they indicate there are sufficient
valuables to protect.

As with cars it doesn't matter what you have, there is always some other to$$er who thinks
they have a right to take it from you. Trouble is there is always someone willing to buy hot
gear for the right price, so these to$$ers know they can make money.
Only way is to stop people buying nicked gear so there is no opportunity for them to make money.

I know your in the HiFi game so probably already know lots about alarms, but I can recommend a good alarm that will amongst other thing, call you on your mobile/office phone/whatever if triggered.
If you have a pc you can even see moving pics, and control home automation bits with the right stuff.

I hope you get the sentimental stuff back at the very least mate.
Once your privacy has been violated the place will never seem quite the same, but even if you move the feeling goes with you.

May seem a daft question and I don't want to undully worry you, but had it occured to you that they might have been after your RS4 in the light of recent events ???

Here's hoping that plod catch the scum responsible.

Cheers,
John.

Aye John sorry to hear of your bad news. I rarely frequent this part of the site, so I didn't know until now. Any further developments since April?

Great words from Tombs. I sometimes wish I had such a temprement. I don't know what I do If I caught such a bandit. I suspect damage would be done...

Whether cutting their hands off works or not in reducing crime, it is the least the law should be doing to penalise these sub-humans - at least they wouldn't be able to do it again.
