Anyone got it ?
Anyone planning to get it ?
Will be a much more sensible proposition when the extenters are launched later this year.

RE: Windows Media Center 2005
Been contemplating one at Poxy Computer World for £799 including 15"TFT so any advise from the Buffs would be useful, also going to connect it to Netgear/DLink wireless media adapters for the other rooms

RE: Windows Media Center 2005
I have a Shuttle Computer Running Windows Media Centre 2005. Its a nice bit of Kit which I have connected to my TV and Hifi
But due to the wife not wanting CAT5 strung across the lounge im having to look into Wireless. So I have a USB dongle, I must say I can stream a DIVX across the network from my server with no problems but the range aint very good, maybe due to the big old TV tube being so close?
Also Microsoft have just released it as OEM software so you can buy it from www.ebuyer.co.uk and build your own system.
There are some real nice add-ins like Weather, Messenger, RSS news reader.

Ken, we were chatting about the media centre pc you bought in March when we were at Oulton Park. How are you getting along with it?
I got the same model as you in the end. Very happy, works a treat (once I'd applied those all important Microsoft patches that is).

Using it and up to now has been very stable, don't think I am using its full potential though

Cool, I've got the tv guide and recording set-up, along with photos & music.
We had lots of problems with recorded tv audio sync until I found a Microsoft update for it.
The record series functionality is excellent. We hardly ever watch 'live' tv now, we just watch some of what it/we record and delete the rest.
I got rid of the DVD player, CD player (nice to have all the music available all the time and to sync the mp3 player), and the video recorder won't be long. Just need a big plasma or LCD screen now to be well modern!
