I almost pissed myself laughing!

His life could have turned out so different in the early years if he had read Freakonomics instead of dealing drugs.

Then he would have learned that working in McDonalds pays a better hourly rate than dealing crack, with a marginally better life expectancy to boot.

He could have been an area manager by now.

Anyway, it's probably a ruse to get out of paying a $5M court fine. Still made me laugh though.

Exactly this. He bankrupts himself in order to avoid paying this chick USD20m or whatever it was for publishing a sex video he made with her
US financial law is very different to uk law, whereby if that was you or I, we'd need to literally sell the shirts off our backs to satisfy the debt, whereas in the US you can flog off one of your several mansions to pay what you can, but still have a massive stash in a secret account and transfer all your other houses to your mums name, or someone else.
If he was truly as gangsta as he makes out though, she'd be dead by now

Perhaps the judge just gave him the penalty as a fine for choosing a pretty ugly women, when a man of his calibre can probably choose from a whole pool of genuinely decent (and dirty) ones

"A man of his calibre" - isn't he a short-arsed convicted drug dealer that's been shot in the face? If she shagged him for his money then at least she's being consistent in sueing him.

I'm not sure that makes any difference in his line of work and social circles. In fact, the badder you've been, the better standard of lady you get
