Aliens.....what cut?

Post by Weiß-sechs » Fri Jan 03, 2014 1:32 am

Just watching Aliens (for the gazilionith time; all time classic) on C4 and seen footage I've never seen before.

It explains why Newt, the girl with the mucky face hiding from the "creatures", gets to be where she is; pretty sure this scene isn't in the director's cut; anyone else seen this version?

Nerdy, I know....... :biggrin3:

Great trilogy as there is only 3 proper Alien films. Pretty sure I have seen a number of versions, does it feature her family?

There was a special edition released as part of The Alien Legacy 20th Anniversary Edition DVD box set.. This version was then included in various collectors boxed sets as they milked the revenue

From Memory various bits of deleted footage where put back included

* Burke's transmission to the colony about the derelict Alien ship
* Newts family (The Jordens) listening to Burkes Transmission
* Newts family first encountering the derelict Alien ship
* Ripley learning that her daughter died during the years she was in hypersleep
* My favourite replaced scene is the one where the Marines use sentry guns against the Aliens in the operations building

One great bit of trivia from Aliens is that the nest set was kept intact after filming and was later used as the Axis Chemicals set for Batman .. Imagine what the film crew of Batman felt when they found most of the Alien nest still intact the day the walked on set
Ex RS6 C6 Driver, gone but not forgotten.. The best car I have ever owned

Yes mate, her old man gets face sucked; don't remember seeing that scene before. I'm with you on only being 3 proper films, Resurrection & vs Predator were just milking the franchise. Do you remember when Prometheus was first realised & Ridley Scott was acting all indignant saying his new film wasn't part of the Alien saga? Well, I was checking out the sale at HMV t'other day and guess what I found? Only a box set called The Evolution collection with the "don't confuse my new film with the Alien franchise" Prometheus packaged up with the 4 Alien films.......suppose they've got to try and claw back some $$$ somehow after that turkey.
