I've seen his "spoken word" things twice now. He was THE MAN in Black Flag, Rollins band had crunchy stuff too. He's a dude of many talents.

Henry Rollins is a very sinister, totally unlikeable white supremacist in Sons of Anarchy season two. I've just finished the box set. I never knew he was a comedian, so it's very strange seeing him do stand up!

Yeah, I used to watch SoA. He never sold it as standup comedy, it was always Henry Rollins Spoken Word.

Rollins is a total legend. He wasn't the original singer in Black Flag but once he took over they became the unbelievably influential band that they did. Alongside Minor Threat they were one of the main influences for some of my favourite bands of today - Pennywise, Rancid and Rise Against to name but three. My absolute favourite band though were comtempories of BF in the early 80s American punk scene and are still going strong - the unequalled genius that is Bad Religion.

Going back to Rollins, I've got a punk DVD featuring a lengthy interview with the man himself and the bit where he laments some of the bands of today is absolutely priceless.

Hadn't really 'discovered' Rancid then - Pennywise were my pet band back then.

Who'd have thought punks would be driving RS4s??!! I'm sure people must be wondering what the hell's going on when I go past to the sound of Bad Religion, Pennywise, Rancid, Rise Against, Flogging Molly, Distillers, TAT, Anti-Flag etc etc. Or if I'm feeling retro it'll be the Pistols.
