Council Tax

Post by DuncS3 » Wed Mar 10, 2004 1:05 pm

Just got the Council Tax renewal through, so it got me wondering how much your council tax has increased this year? Mine is 5.1% for Surrey County Council, approx £40 quid up on last year. Better than the 50 odd % it has gone up in the last two years. In total I pay £1482 and I live in a 3 bed end of terrace (band E)!

Well you are both better off than here.

Newark and Sherwood DC have the highest council tax rates in the UK. You southerners have never had it so easy

Hmmm - mine was £1900 last year - I expect over £2k for the next year! Added to which, the CT discount on our Norfolk cottage will be reduced from 50% to 10%.

The thought had crossed my mind! I shall be looking into it - probably make my car insurance cheaper too!
