Selling a house Privately

Post by sitas3 » Wed Mar 03, 2004 3:45 pm

we've made the decision to move house and we live in a sought-after area of Surrey, where there is plenty of demand for our Two bed semi.

Before we instruct the estate agent to sell, does anyone have any experience of selling their house privately without paying a middleman (ie Estate Agent) 2k in fees (think mods for the S4! )?

Is this more trouble that it is worth doing?

Any comments/experiences appreciated.

thanks for the links John. I'll have a read up on this tonight to see if it is worth doing.

The last time I was involved ( elderly Aunt last september) it was £4k not £2k to the agent , £2k would help towards your fuel bill
