Huntley's previous record

There seems to be a lot of fuss around the many 'allegations' that were made against Huntley in the preceding years, and why they were lost in the system.
Looking at it purely objectively, 'allegations' by themselves are mere speculation and should be discarded. The police are there to turn allegations into 'convictions'. If there are no convictions then everything else is heresay and rumour - and should not be used as a basis on whether to employ someone or not ("I heard from someone down the pub that he...etc,etc")
Now he may or may not be guilty as these allegations suggest - but as we have an 'innocent until proven guilty' system none of them should be taken into consideration.

I agree with you Paul 'innocent until proven guilty' but there was relevant information that should have been disclosed during his job application process due to the fact that he was "in a position of trust" and "in close contact with children". My understanding is he had a conviction for burglary and he had changed his name by deed poll.
Photographic ID issued by Government agencies and shown during the job application process my have helped.
In saying all that it his his connection with Carr that put him in contact with the girls and not necessarily his job.

My understanding is that he was charged with burglary not convicted. The intersting thing is that the television news is trying to turn this into entertainment not news with Journalists speculating like mad and the Chief Constable of Humberside walking out on Paxman during an interview. missed the walk out (on Paxman) but did hear him on radio advocating what in effect was guilty until prooved innocent.
Seems that Humberside police wiped off records because of Data Portection......not my understanding od DP.
The burlary aspect if disclosed would have prevented him getting the job at the school. A Headteacher only needs to consider "probability of involvement" not the usual beyond reasonable doubt. There are no spent convictions for any person involved in Education. Helping parents in schools, strictly speaking , should also be criminally cleared.
He would have got somebody anyway/how, these people are just so devious, if they have to live I'd have their balls [img]images/graemlins/shocked.gif[/img] no repeat offending then.

I'm with you on removing there balls. There are too many whingeing lefties that think if you speak nicely to these offeners that they will become rehabilitated and fit to enter society again. instead of getting hard time they go to holiday camps,and i can hear them now what about there human rights. well imo if you commit a crime like that you have no rights. nail em up [img]images/graemlins/crucified.gif[/img] [img]images/graemlins/rant.gif[/img]
