Since the others have put up some pretty good ideas I have run it past the girls in the practice.
Are you spending all your time with your mates and your car or Le Mans wold be really special for you? If you are at her disposal al the time than arranging alternative entertainment for her along the spa, ahopping etc line whould be O.K.
If you are out all the time than you have to make her birthday special and spend the day with her.
If you just want to say that you are sorry you don't have to spend a fortune but keep giving her little gifts, chocholate, flowers, notes regularly and keep repeting that you are really sorry.
