Microsoft Rallisport Challenge

Post by jeffw » Tue Jan 28, 2003 7:45 am

For those of you into PC racing games, Rallisport Challenge by Microsoft has the Group B Quattro and the Pikes Peak S1 as cars you can drive. It's the first rally game that I've seen the Pikes Peak car in. It also has a 1000BHP Suzuki Vitara

Have you bought GT concept cars??

Bloody brilliant.. all the normal Grand T tracks but you get to drive a RS4 and a RS6

Joyous!

Dave,

Fully agree with you, PS2's "Gran Turismo Concept 2002 Tokyo-Geneva" -seems there's a version for Asia and US called GT Concept 2001 Tokyo, not sure if offers the RS6- is a true pleasure to play for the RS4 and RS6, plus the TT ABT.
Especially since these cars are available from start, no need to win dozens of races to unlock them...
And the replay feature is so COOOOOOL !!!

Although a bit short compared to the standard GT series (not much of championship with all mods upgrades) but definitely the one to get on PS2 (or any console ?).

How about plugging a PS2 into the Nav-screen ...

It's a great game, no arguing about that. but it's way to short: there are only 5 tracks, and you can't upgrade/tune your cars. I don't know how the normal GT is like in the UK, but here it has something like 25 tracks, so only a minor part of the tracks from GTA 2-spec are available, on the other the fact that you can drive a RS4 and RS6 makes it my best Racegame Image

Totally agree.. why they can't put the whole program on with those cars is beyond me...

Nice screen shot, Reno ;-)

You used a digi-cam or an emulator (if that exists) ?

Well, I got something to beat that ;-)

A dual-screen complete lap of the Ring : one from the "Grand Prix Legends" PC game and one for a real Porsche GT3 which also overtakes a 50-person bus...
So you can compare the game track (with minimal landscape details) and the real track, turn by turn.

But the file is 40meg (9 minutes), so not sure how to post it.

Eric
PS : Got a dozen others from the Ring, ranging from Elise, Caterham, M3, Corvette to a whooping 145meg for a Ferrari 360 Modena F1 with spine-chilling engine sound.

Actually I found the link where I initially downloaded it GT3 vs GPL and most of the Ring videos I mentionned. But the main site http://www.motorcycle-dk.com is now a memorial.

I understand Jorund's friends decided to keep his site live as a tribute "In Memoriam" to his passion of the Ring which ultimately met his fate.
It's up to you to decide whether you feel comfortable with visiting his site and downloading these files.
