Are you self employed???

Post by AlexJ » Wed Jul 16, 2008 10:50 pm

Just curious...

I just asked the question on another forum, so i thought i would ask here also..

I have a floor sanding business and the phones and email are dead quiet at the moment, just wondered if anyone else here with there own business is feeling the backlash from a great few months of <beep> choices from Mr G.Brown.

I am! But bussiness is busy busy! We do marine refrigeration and air con so a stable market really. Don't suppose you fancy a trip to Southampton? I have a very old cottage and I need to have all my floors sanded as the builders I have just got rid of managed to nearly ruin them!

Me too, i own an embroidery company, we've been rammed full of work all year but had a bit of scare from the 1st July... suddenly went dead but thankfully picking up again. Don't let the media hype drag you down!!

I think you will find most people fairly quiet compared to this time last year. I know I am but there is still business out there.

Anyone who's got their own business - we do business and corporate asset finance too including re-structuring of asset based debt or releasing cash from assets owned outright.

We're actually reasonably busy at the moment, but a lot of clients in retail are telling me that it is very quiet. I've heard of one Estate Agent closing but many others making cutbacks.
