FS: 1999/T Noggy B5 S4 - high miles but sound - track slag?

I've finally got fed up with using an S4 for 18000 miles a year of daily slog on the worst bit of the A14. I'm off to buy an armchair instead. (Seriously, I think I'm not very compatible with the seats - back/shoulder issues.)

Therefore, my S4 moon rocket (it's over 2/3 of the way there - 187000 miles) is up for grabs. Trade in prices have been depressing, so I'm open to offers. Here's the details:-

Bog standard Nogaro Blue B5 S4, silver grey leather & door inserts. Bodywork in good nick aside from: a noticeable stone chip on the front of the bonnet, and the door handles seem paint-averse. Other than that, it's had a good life and I think both exterior and interior condition attests to that.

Fully facelifted internally: it's a 2000 model-year car.
Leccy windows & mirrors (working) ;)
Concert stereo, 6 CD changer, Bose speakers/sub.
DIS fine, but has the usual missing rows from time to time.
Fettled buy Doug a while back - custom remap.
Cambelt/water pump done @150k ish, afterrun coolant pump not long after that.
Recent radiator, red stuff pads all round, and rear discs.
Audi service history into the low 100's, specialist from there on. MOT to April, tax to July.
It still pulls like a train, any gear, any revs, without complaint or hiccough. I've just done 1000 miles in four days, and it's not missed a beat. Never has, come to that.
Amazingly free of creaks/rattles from interior trim.
1 month old Vredestein Quattrac 3 winter tyres all round.

One bad point: I still have an ABS gremlin that I've already written about in the forums. A lot's been eliminated: tyres, ESP/ABS/EBD electronics, combo yaw sensor, underbonnet control unit. General consensus is that it's most likely the rings. January's been too busy for me to take it further.

It seems a shame for it to go into the trade and be underappreciated. If someone here needs a basis for a track slag, or the cheapest S4 on earth, PM me and make me an offer better than the trade can. Expect a quiz about S4s though to verify that you're not a scammer ;) Pics to follow.

But be quick: it'll only be about a week before I cave and trade it for something shameful like a 3.0tdi A8.

Hi, I'm in Cambs, just out to the west of Cambridge.

Pics... yes, I know I know. With humble apologies, I'll get some up tomorrow night. Just haven't been in the house long enough to find the hard drive with the iPhoto library on and deal with it.

Cheers,

--Chris

OK, pictures, sorta. I realise, on looking at my iPhoto library, that the only pictures I've taken of the car are from 2007. So here *they* are - with the caveat that they weren't taken with selling in mind and are old - and I'll take ones of the car now and upload them soon.

£3k optimistic? Not at all. Looks like a bargain at that price.

I would say that with that mileage the phrase "a car is worth what someone is prepared to pay" couldn't be more true.

It's about finding the right person for the car. I would be very surprised, especially in this climate if a trader stood it at more than about a grand. Obviously they may offer more than that as a p/x but thats my VAG sales experience speaking.

I've been offered north of 2k by a trader actually. I'd rather it went to someone who knows the cars and wants to base a project on it, though, part of the reason it's up here.

Just tried to click that thread, nothing comes up?

Was it the same car? I hope someone wasnt advertising it trying to find a buyer then try and buy the car to sell on quick!

Should be in my hands this time tomorrow anyway, its going to be my track car, already sourced a low mileage engine for it...
