Tanks in spare wheel whole and holds £30 of LPG which returns an average of 170miles to a tank.

The fillers under the rear bumper next to the divers side exhaust great place as hidden and does not effect body work, Cant even see in pictures

Hmmm mpg sounds a bit disappointing if I have this right.

£30 at approx 60p litre = 50 litres
Thats a gnats whisker over 11 gallons.
So 170 miles for 11 gallons = less than 16mpg.

Even converting back to reflect the price of petrol (say £1.12 / 60p = 1.87) gives a comparison of 16 x 1.87 = 29mpg.

So what was the point ? And I've not included the cost of the conversion and subsequent servicing.

I would have hoped to see a real 21mpg on lpg (24-25 average on petrol ?) which would then have suggested a comparable figure of about 36mpg overall - and a margin over standard (24/25) to gradually claw back the conversion costs.

Just doesn't seem to make sense (or have i got something wrong somewhere ?).

Your kind of on the right track,
but another way to put it is I save £26ish every tank so based on roughly 12000 miles a year I save approx £1950 a year
so within 15ish months the system is paid for and all the saving go stright in ya pocket!

But any way this is not a discussion on fitting lpg its a for sale post and its already paid for, so the new buyer gets all the saving without the outlay!

Liffy99 - My S4 averages 15/16 around town driven carefully and maybe top 20's on a good motorway run. Only get about 16/18 if i take it out for a spirited drive. I think your suggestion of 24/25 on petrol for one of these beasts is way off the mark trust me. Wish i could get 170 miles off 30 quid.

I fill mine for 65 quid and get 220 miles so this is a cheap-to-run S4.

Looks like the S4 is a lot thirstier than I thought. Just disappointed - I would have expected running lpg would deliver something approaching double the economy (not quite due to lower calorific value of the fuel and its just over half the price of petrol). So a 'converted' figure based on 21mpg standard might be 35mpg or so (not 29 at best).
Anyway, best leave this thread alone
